Thing 24 Refresh Your Blog

I haven't blogged here since I finished the 23 Things On a Stick activity we had here at Saint Paul Public Library. I have blogged at the Saint Paul Public Library's Booked In Saint Paul blog and at another work-related blog. I like blogging because it's easy and because the results look pretty good. I read my husband's and two of my brothers-in-law's blogs. I leave comments when appropriate (and sometimes when not). I recently read a book that started as a blog, The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl, which I really enjoyed. (The book, not the blog, that is. I haven't really spent much time at the blog.)

Fritz the cat

This is a super cute site that I read about in the strib this morning. The photos were taken by a kitty named Fritz who wears a camera around his neck.

Library 2.0/thing 18

I read several of the articles listed in the discovery exercise for thing 18. I can't think of anything to add. I love Library 2.0 and embrace it as wholeheartedly as I can. I use lots of Web 2.0 tools here at work. For example, I am sitting in the workroom at Highland Park Library checking in new books. And I am listening to the Current on the computer while I work. The DJ just announced that Amy Winehouse was in trouble again. So I went to my old number fourteen blog--this very one you're reading now--and went to my del.icio.us widget and clicked on the "guardian" tag. That took me to the Guardian newspaper link in my del.icio.us account, where I was able to get updated information on the Amy Winehouse situation. You'll be relieved to know she's been released from police custody. I'm just saying!

Boxxet/Thing 22

I explored Boxxet.com, a site on the Web 2.0 awards list. I found a "Boxxet" for a sleazy program I like to watch called Footballers' Wives. The boxxet is just a list of posts that mention Footballers's Wives and the actors who are in it. I'm not enough of a fan to have a use for this site.

Rollyo/thing 15

I created my own search tool with Rollyo. Here it is for what it's worth: my favorite beers. I don't think I will ever use this site for anything. But I know where it is and what it does. I added a picture of the Good Beer Guide 2008 to this post because I like the way pictures break up all the text.

A few useful blogs and/or news feeds/thing 12

I found a few useful blogs and/or news feeds. For example, this is one of my favorite blogs in the whole wide world: Dear Phil. It's useful, too; it keeps me in stitches at the information desk, which is very important in this business!

RSS feeds/thing 11

Okay, I set up my bloglines account and subscribed to some feeds. But I don't know how to have my bloglines feeds come to my blog instead of my having to go to bloglines to look at them. Oh, well. I also can't figure out how to get RSS feeds to come to my blog. I will keep trying to figure it out.
